During my time at Google, I had the great pleasure of working with immensely talented Talia Felicia. My team was charged with launching first-ever DEI initiatives that consisted of curated programs and activities focused on cultivating Black+, LatinX and WomenX tech talent. Upon coming to the table to develop a two-day event which consisted of an evening gala and multi-session forum followed by a brunch, Talia was our event designer/planner of choice. Working from Florida up until "showtime," Talia grabbed ahold of our vision and turned our overall concept into reality, securing two prominent NYC locations for our 70-100 guests over each of the two days. In keeping with our diversity supplier goals, she reached into her network and brought us other creatives who thoughtfully infused their talents and skill throughout the project. She cultivated key relationships with all our other vendors which was vital to the seamless coordination of all parties. Her organizational skills kept us on track and within budget. No undertaking of this magnitude goes off without a wrinkle or two, but she and capable her team were there to iron out every single one. From the elegant tablescapes to mesmerizing lighting design, the spaces she created were brilliantly stunning wall to wall. These spaces were more than just a backdrop. Black+ and LatinX tech professionals came together and built community in a most unforgettable way thanks to her incredible work. The execution of these events was made bittersweet as our partnership came a close. It is my hope that I will have the opportunity to partner with Talia over and over again. I am confident that anyone who has the privilege of working with her will feel the same.
